2020 Honda Civic Sport Line announced
Cars like the new Civic Sport Line might be ‘all show and no go’, but their combination of purposeful looks and ordinary engines is popular with many customers. That’s perfectly understandable, because not everyone wants high performance (or the associated running costs).
This additional trim grade is based on the existing EX hatchback. As well as full LED headlights and gloss black 17” alloy wheels, it gains a subtle body kit comprising a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a boot spoiler.
Inside, the changes are limited to some red stitching and aluminium pedals. More useful is the standard-fit Honda Connect infotainment system which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Power is provided by a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol unit with VTEC. Output and torque are both fairly modest, being rated at 124 bhp (93 kW / 126 PS) and 200 Nm (147 lb/ft) respectively.
Civic Sport Line prices start at £25,510 if a six-speed manual gearbox is chosen. Opting for a continuously-variable automatic transmission instead sees that figure rise to £26,910.
Deliveries are due to begin next month.
