UK prices for the 2020 Renault Captur

Ahead of deliveries beginning in March 2020, Renault has announced specifications and pricing for its all-new second-generation Captur. Buyers of this B-segment SUV will be faced with a choice of eighteen different trim grade and powertrain combinations.

Standard equipment on the entry-level ‘Play’ includes LED headlights, automatic windscreen wipers, a sliding rear bench seat, cruise control, climate control and a 4.2” information display between the main instruments.

Also fitted is an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems package which consists of lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, active emergency braking and an emergency calling function. In addition, infotainment is provided by an EasyLink set-up comprising a 7” touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Bluetooth, a DAB / FM radio and four speakers.

Completing the line-up are the ‘S Edition’ models. As well as front parking sensors, 17” diamond-cut alloys, a reversing camera and faux-leather upholstery, they feature a larger 7” information display and an upgraded 9.3” EasyLink touchscreen.

  • TCe 130 – 128 bhp (95 kW / 130 PS) and 240 Nm (177 lb/ft); six-speed manual gearbox or EDC

An ‘E-Tech Plug-in’ alternative could be worth waiting for, though. Due to arrive later next year, it’s a hybrid that incorporates a 1.6 litre petrol engine, an electric motor and a 9.8 kWh battery pack. Maximum range in pure EV mode is claimed to be a very reasonable 28 miles (45 kilometres).
