UK prices for the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage

Thanks to a well-executed facelift, the Mitsubishi Mirage five-door supermini now looks a lot less nondescript than before.

The most visible changes are at the front, where the brand’s ‘Dynamic Shield’ design principles have been applied to the grille, headlights and bumper. Furthermore, the rear gains a restyled bumper and new LED light clusters.

Mitsubishi has also taken the opportunity to revise the available trim grades.

Consequently, the 2020 Mirage range starts with the £10,550 Verve. This is equipped with 14” steel wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, a rain sensor, four electric windows, a CD player and Bluetooth with music streaming.

Next comes the Design variant, which features 15” alloy wheels, red grille accents, electric-folding door mirrors, keyless operation and rear privacy glass. Also part of the specification is an infotainment system that combines a 6.5” touchscreen, a DAB radio, satellite navigation (with TomTom maps), SDA (Smartphone link Display Audio), Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Finally, there’s the limited-production First Edition. Among its extra items are LED headlights, rear parking sensors, climate control, heated front seats, cruise control and Forward Collision Mitigation with pedestrian detection.

Every Mirage is still powered by a 1.2 litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 79 bhp (59 kW / 80 PS) and 106 Nm (78 lb/ft) of peak torque. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard, but a continuously-variable automatic transmission can be fitted to Design and First Edition models instead.
