UK prices for the 2020 Toyota Proace City van
Despite being first announced in May 2019, Toyota dealers have only just started accepting orders for the Proace City. As a reminder, this new compact van is essentially a badge-engineered version of the existing Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall / Opel Combo.
It’s being offered in Short (4,403 mm / 173.3”) and Long (4,753 mm / 187.1”) guises. As well as double rear doors, both also come with a sliding door on each side for easy access to the load area.
The sole available engine in the UK is a 1.5 litre diesel that’s mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. However, there is a choice of two outputs: customers can have either 74 bhp (55 kW / 75 PS) with 230 Nm (170 lb/ft) of torque, or 101 bhp (75 kW / 102 PS) with 250 Nm (185 lb/ft). Servicing intervals are 25,000 miles or every two years.
Standard equipment on the entry-level Active includes automatic headlights, power-adjustable door mirrors, electric windows, air conditioning, a monochrome multi-information display, a DAB radio and Bluetooth. A full metal bulkhead and a rubber floor covering for the cargo space are fitted, too.
Alternatively, the Icon trim grade benefits from several extra luxuries. Among them are front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, automatic wipers and cruise control. Furthermore, an upgraded infotainment system features an 8” touchscreen and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Also part of the Icon’s specification is Smart Cargo, which combines an electronic handbrake, two passenger seats and a through-load facility that allows lengthy items to be partly carried in the cab. The Toyota Safety Sense suite of technologies is a cost option, though.
