Updates for Alfa Romeo’s Quadrifoglio models

Alfa Romeo has introduced the 2020 Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. While they both still feature a 503 bhp (375 kW / 510 PS) 2.9 litre V6 bi-turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust with carbon fibre tailpipes has become a cost option.

Many of the other changes focus on adding technology. For instance, the completely revamped infotainment system – which now uses an 8.8” touchscreen – gains several ‘Performance Pages’. As well as recording acceleration times and speeds achieved, these can display various parameters including torque delivery, turbo pressure and component temperatures.

Also new is an Advanced Driver Assistance System. Developed in partnership with Bosch, it provides Level 2 autonomous driving by utilising Active Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Control, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Highway Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, and Driver Attention Assist. Consequently, the vehicle is able to control steering, throttle and braking inputs under certain circumstances.

Visually, the revised versions are hard to tell apart from their predecessors. However, there’s a refreshed paintwork selection, the badges get a gloss black finish and the LED rear light clusters have been darkened. Inside, the alterations are limited to a redesigned centre console and some extra upholstery choices.

Sales of the 2020 Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio are due to begin this summer. Prices and final UK specifications have yet to be confirmed.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo supermini is now available with the innovative two-cylinder TwinAir petrol engine. Although its capacity is only 875 cc, a turbocharger and the MultiAir electro-hydraulic valve control system mean it produces a respectable 83 bhp (62 kW / 85 PS) and 145 Nm (103 lb/ft) of torque. Performance might not be scintillating - the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint takes 12.5 seconds and maximum speed is 108 mph (173 km/h) - but the TwinAir’s trump card is efficiency. Aston Martin Vantage GTE

Aston Martin Racing has announced that it’ll be entering a V8 Vantage in the GTE Pro category of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship. Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE. Scroll down for more images and a video. Painted in Gulf blue and orange, the car’s driver line-up has been confirmed as Adrian Fernandez, Stefan Mücke and Darren Turner. The plan is to contest all eight rounds of the WEC, which commences with the 12 Hours of Sebring on the 17th of March. For the third race - June’s Le Mans 24 Hours - a second Vantage is going to be run, but its drivers have yet to be named. In preparation for the season’s premier event the team also intends to compete in the Long Beach and Laguna Seca rounds of the American Le Mans Series. Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
