UK launch prices for the 2021 Toyota Hilux

Although deliveries of the revised 2021 Hilux aren’t due to begin until November, Toyota is letting customers place pre-orders for the range-topping Invincible and Invincible X Double Cab variants from next month.

As standard, both come with LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, 18” alloy wheels and the Toyota Safety Sense suite of assistance technologies. As well as heated front seats and climate control, the interiors feature a touchscreen-controlled Touch 2 infotainment system that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Invincible X additionally gains dark matte grey body styling, leather upholstery, satellite navigation and a nine-speaker JBL audio upgrade.

Toyota is promising better dynamics than before, thanks mainly to recalibrated dampers and modified rear leaf springs. Highway driving should also benefit from a new automatic limited-slip differential, which operates in high-ratio / two-wheel drive mode.

Another significant development sees the introduction of a 2.8 litre turbocharged diesel engine. Output is rated at 201 bhp (150 kW / 204 PS), while the peak torque figure is 500 Nm (368 lb-ft). Like the continuing 2.4 litre version, it can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission.

On-the-road prices excluding VAT / including VAT for the initial models are:
  • Invincible Double Cab 2.4D manual – £29,158 / £34,925
  • Invincible Double Cab 2.4D automatic – £30,408 / £36,425
  • Invincible Double Cab 2.8D manual – £29,553 / £35,400
  • Invincible Double Cab 2.8D automatic – £30,803 / £36,900
