UK prices for the pure-electric Škoda Enyaq iV

Škoda has confirmed launch prices and specifications for the all-new Enyaq iV. Customers will be able to place orders later this year, ahead of deliveries beginning in spring 2021.

At 4,649 mm (15’ 3”) long, the five-seat Enyaq iV is about the same size as another SUV in Škoda’s range: the 4,697 mm (15’ 4”) Kodiaq. However, the former is built on a completely different platform engineered solely for electric propulsion. Consequently, there’s space underneath the floor to house a battery pack, while the electric motor is mounted beneath the boot.

To start with, every Enyaq iV is going to be rear-wheel drive, but an all-wheel drive alternative is due to arrive later. Two powertrain packages called 60 and 80 are being offered:

• Peak torque – 310 Nm (228 lb-ft)
• 0-62 mph (100 km/h) – 8.9 seconds
• Top speed – 99 mph (160 km/h)
• DC charging capability – 50 kW (100 kW optional)

80

• Battery – 82 kWh
• WLTP range – 316 miles (510 kilometres)
• Output – 201 bhp (150 kW / 204 PS)
• Peak torque – 310 Nm (228 lb-ft)
• 0-62 mph (100 km/h) – 8.7 seconds
• Top speed – 99 mph (160 km/h)
• DC charging capability – 50 kW (125 kW optional)

As standard, the Enyaq iV 60 comes with 19” alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a 13” infotainment screen, road sign recognition and Front Assist automatic emergency braking.

Upgrading to an Enyaq iV 80 adds various extra items including front parking sensors, a rear-view camera, satellite navigation, a heated steering wheel and a choice of driving modes.

The regular 60 and 80 models are both available with Loft, Suite or Lounge interior design themes.

An 80 Founders Edition variant is also part of the initial line-up. This special Enyaq iV gains 21” alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights, an illuminated front grille, black leather upholstery and the aforementioned 125 kW DC charging facility.

It’s incredibly expensive, though. In fact, the 80 Founders Edition only just qualifies for the government’s £3,000 Plug-in Car Grant, because eligibility is restricted to vehicles costing less than £50,000.
