Škoda previews the design of its Enyaq iV

Škoda’s first pure-electric SUV is going to be launched next month. Named Enyaq iV, it’s based on the same MEB modular platform that already underpins the Volkswagen ID.3 and several other models.

The styling – which is described as having “emotive lines” with “balanced, dynamic proportions” – results in an unmistakeably ‘Škoda’ look. Nevertheless, there are a few key differences compared the brand’s previous SUVs.

No combustion engine means that the bonnet can be shorter, for instance, while both the wheelbase and roof line have been lengthened. A traditional front grille remains to give the Enyaq iV some extra visual identity, though.

Full technical specifications are yet to be announced. However, Škoda has confirmed that the Enyaq iV will be offered with a choice of three battery sizes, five output levels and either rear- or all-wheel drive. The maximum range target is 310 miles (500 kilometres).
