UK specs and prices for Dacia’s 2021 Sandero
Dacia has confirmed specifications and prices for its all-new Sandero and Sandero Stepway, which can be pre-ordered now ahead of UK sales beginning in February 2021.
As before, the Stepway variant features several SUV-inspired styling cues. Ground clearance is increased from 133 mm (5.2”) to 174 mm (6.8”), while metal skid plates offer some under-body protection. Furthermore, roof rails and plenty of plastic cladding enhance practicality.
Once they’ve decided on either a Sandero or a Sandero Stepway, customers will need to choose a trim grade.
The entry-level Access (not available in Stepway guise) is, as expected, rather basic. Nevertheless, the standard kit list includes automatic LED headlights, front electric windows, Bluetooth and a Media Control docking station for smartphones (operated via a special Dacia app).
There’s a fairly decent amount of safety equipment, too. As well as six airbags, the Access comes with a speed limiter, automatic emergency braking, and E-Call emergency call that has a dedicated SOS button next to the interior light.
Moving up to the Essential adds wheel covers, body-coloured bumpers and remote central locking. Inside, things are less austere thanks to the presence of manual air conditioning, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a fully-adjustable steering column, cruise control and a DAB radio.
Among the extra items on the Comfort are 15” Flexwheels (steel wheels with covers designed to look like alloys), body-coloured door mirrors with power adjustment, automatic windscreen wipers, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, keyless entry and rear electric windows.
This version also benefits from a Media Nav infotainment system that incorporates a centrally-mounted 8” touchscreen, satellite navigation and compatibility with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
At the top of the range is the Prestige (only available in Stepway guise). Distinguished by a set of 16” diamond-cut alloy wheels, it gets front parking sensors, climate control, heated front seats and blind-spot warning.
The Sandero engine line-up comprises a trio of 1.0-litre three-cylinder units:
