2021 European Car of the Year candidates

To be considered for this year’s European Car of the Year award, new models had to be on sale in at least five European markets before the end of 2020.

  • Ford Kuga
  • Honda e
  • Honda Jazz
  • Hyundai i10
  • Hyundai i20
  • Hyundai Tucson
  • Kia Sorento
  • Land Rover Defender
  • Mazda MX-30
  • Mercedes-Benz GLA
  • Mercedes-Benz GLB
  • Mercedes-Benz GLS
  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class
  • Peugeot 2008
  • Polestar 2
  • Seat Leon
  • Škoda Octavia
  • Toyota Mirai
  • Toyota Yaris
  • Volkswagen Golf

Following an initial vote, the seven nominees are going to be revealed on the 8th of January. Then, a second ballot will take place to decide the overall winner. That final result is due to be announced on the 1st of March.
