Some of the brand’s customers might be dismayed by such news, because the Speed incorporates numerous enhancements. Power from the 6.0-litre W12 TSI twin-turbo engine is up by 24 PS (24 bhp / 18 kW) to 659 PS (650 bhp / 485 kW) for instance, while peak torque is rated at 900 Nm (664 lb-ft).

That output is delivered to all four wheels via a quicker-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The result is a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of just 3.6 seconds and an impressive 208 mph (335 km/h) top speed.

As well as active air suspension, adaptive damping and Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control, the specification includes recalibrated all-wheel steering. In addition, an electronic rear differential (eLSD) is fitted to a Bentley for the first time.
