DBR1 spec for the Aston Martin V12 Speedster

Aston Martin has created an optional DBR1 appearance package for the upcoming V12 Speedster. As that name suggests, it’s a nostalgic tribute to the car which won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans (and many other high-profile races besides).

On the outside, Aston Martin Racing Green paintwork is complemented by Clubsport White roundels, satin black centre-lock 21” wheels and a satin silver anodised front grille. The twin cockpits represent a mixture of traditional and modern, as Conker saddle leather is combined with brushed aluminium switchgear and glossy carbon fibre.

Every V12 Speedster will be powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbo engine. An estimated 700 PS (690 bhp / 515 kW) and 753 Nm (555 lb-ft) of torque is delivered via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, resulting in a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 3.4 seconds. 198 mph (318 km/h) is possible, so helmets are probably advisable for protection against wind or debris.
