Hyundai Tucson N Line and N Line S unveiled

Hyundai has added a couple of sporty-looking trim grades to its 2021 Tucson line-up. Named N Line and N Line S, they both feature a unique front grille, restyled body-coloured bumpers, a larger rear spoiler and a set of 19” alloy wheels.

Black suede and leather upholstery with red stitching and piping continues the theme inside. Alloy pedals, a special ‘N’ steering wheel and a black headlining are part of the package too.

Heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors front and rear, a reversing camera, wireless device charging, satellite navigation and Bluelink connected car services all appear on the Tucson N Line’s standard equipment list. Driver aids include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Follow Assist and Lane Keep Assist.

Among the extra items on the N Line S are three-zone climate control, eight-speaker Krell Premium Audio, a smart electric tailgate, and a power-operated tilt-and-slide panoramic sunroof. This variant also gains Blind Spot Collision Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist Junction Turning, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning.

Initially, every Tucson N Line and N Line S will come with a 1.6 T-GDi petrol engine, which can produce either 150 PS (148 bhp / 110 kW) or 180 PS (177 bhp / 132 kW). Depending on the output, there’s a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions.

For the time being only a 48V MHEV (mild hybrid) system is available, but full hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains are due to arrive later this year.

  • N Line 1.6 T-GDi 48V MHEV 150 PS 7DCT – £33,275
  • N Line S 1.6 T-GDi 150 PS 6MT – £32,810
  • N Line S 1.6 T-GDi 48V MHEV 150 PS 7DCT – £35,195
  • N Line S 1.6 T-GDi 48V MHEV 180 PS 7DCT 4WD – £37,065
It’s worth pointing out that the only ‘free’ paint colour is Engine Red. Opting for any of the six alternative shades increases the invoice amount by between £300 and £665, while a contrasting Phantom Black roof finish costs another £500.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
