BMW updates the M135i xDrive for 2022

Various chassis changes just announced for the BMW M35i xDrive are intended to improve its driving dynamics and responsiveness.

The spring and damper rates have been recalibrated, while the front-wheel camber angle is higher than before. Furthermore, the front suspension wishbones gain new ‘hydromounts’, plus engineers have modified the mounts for the rear trailing and control arms.

According to BMW, body roll and steering feel are the main beneficiaries, especially at higher speeds.

Power still comes from a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine which produces 306 PS (302 bhp / 225 kW) with 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of peak torque. That output is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.

As well as a mechanical limited-slip differential for the front axle, the standard specification also includes a traction-enhancing near-actuator wheel slip limitation system. In addition, Performance Control can selectively apply the brakes to help the car’s cornering behaviour.

A UK price for the 2022 M135i xDrive has yet to be confirmed.

Aston Martin Vantage GTE

Aston Martin Racing has announced that it’ll be entering a V8 Vantage in the GTE Pro category of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship. Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE. 2012 Civic NGTC livery

Honda Racing’s all-new Civic NGTC race cars were first seen at a Brands Hatch test session last month. Then they were painted plain white, but now the colour scheme that will be worn in this year’s British Touring Car Championship has been revealed. As expected, the design is predominantly white with red and black stripes. A deal with Yuasa has also been confirmed, which will see the battery manufacturer becoming the renamed Honda Yuasa Racing Team’s title sponsor for the next three years.
