Fifth-generation Ford Mondeo revealed

Ford has created its all-new Mondeo to appeal solely to buyers in China. In fact, Ford China led the project, the car was unveiled at the company’s recently-established China Design Center in Shanghai, and all manufacturing will be done by Changan Ford in Chongqing. Sales in either Europe or North America are most unlikely.

The 2023 model – which is described as being a “sporty coupe-style sedan” – is 63 mm (2.4”) longer and 23 mm (0.9”) wider than the previous version. Acknowledging local tastes, that modest growth in dimensions has primarily resulted in extra space for rear-seat passengers.

Customer deliveries in China are due to begin later this year.

Moto Guzzi V7 Record kit

Inspired by the 1969 V7 Record that set several speed records for Moto Guzzi, the new Record kit has been designed to give current-generation V7 models a retro endurance racer look. Included is a lightweight fibreglass front fairing (which handily uses the existing headlight), plus a replacement single seat unit that features memory foam. The kit can be fitted to the V7 Café and V7 Racer without any modifications. Chevy Captiva for the US

Chevrolet’s Captiva is set to become a truly global vehicle. The compact crossover, which is already available in more than fifty territories worldwide, will soon add the United States to its tally of markets when sales begin there towards the end of this year. To be known as the Captiva Sport in the US, Chevrolet is aiming its new addition primarily at fleet customers. Arguably it’s a direct replacement for the defunct Saturn Vue, which was itself based on the Captiva’s very close relation, the Vauxhall / Opel Antara .
