Opel introduces the Rocks-e Kargo

Opel has revealed the new Rocks-e Kargo, its rebadged version of the Citroën My Ami Cargo battery-electric delivery vehicle.

Inside, the passenger seat is replaced by a polypropylene cargo module. This can be accessed from both sides, thanks to a hinged top cover (which is also removable). A choice of two different height settings for the loadspace floor provides further flexibility.

Total goods volume exceeds 400 litres and, depending on how things are arranged, items up to 1.20 metres (3’ 11”) long can be carried. Maximum payload is 140 kg (308 lb).

The powertrain is shared with the regular Rocks-e. Therefore, an 8 PS (8 bhp / 6 kW) electric motor is combined with a 5.5 kWh battery pack, and provisional range according to the WLTP measure is 47 miles (75 kilometres). Recharging via an ordinary domestic socket takes around four hours.

Opel will initially offer the Rocks-e Kargo in Germany and the Netherlands, ahead of other market launches. Prices have yet to be confirmed.
