UK prices for the 2022 Abarth 595 and 695

Rumours continue to circulate about an upcoming Abarth version of the recently-launched pure-electric Fiat 500. Such a model has yet to be officially confirmed, but the elderly 595 and 695 are remaining in production for another year at least.

Although the line-up has been updated once again for 2022, the 595 and 695 are still powered by a 1.4-litre T-jet turbocharged petrol engine. It’s usually mated to a manual gearbox, however certain variants can be configured with an optional automatic transmission instead.

The 595 is now only available with an output of 165 PS (162 bhp / 121 kW). Consequently, it’s able to accelerate from rest to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.3 seconds and achieve 135 mph (217 km/h).

If more performance is required, then the 695 boasts 180 PS (177 bhp / 132 kW) plus 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of peak torque. Those increased figures translate into a 0-62 mph time of 6.7 seconds and a 140 mph (225 km/h) top speed.

As well as a choice of hatchback or convertible body styles, customers will be faced with a selection of trim levels. One alternative to the base grades is the Turismo specification, which focusses on comfort. Accordingly, leather upholstery, climate control and satellite navigation are all fitted as standard.

An even sportier driving experience is promised by the F595 and 695 Competizione. While they both feature a Record Monza Sovrapposto exhaust and Koni dampers, the latter additionally gains carbon-shell Sabelt seats and a mechanical limited-slip differential.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo supermini is now available with the innovative two-cylinder TwinAir petrol engine. Aston Martin Racing has announced that it’ll be entering a V8 Vantage in the GTE Pro category of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship. Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE. Honda Racing’s all-new Civic NGTC race cars were first seen at a Brands Hatch test session last month. Then they were painted plain white, but now the colour scheme that will be worn in this year’s British Touring Car Championship has been revealed. As expected, the design is predominantly white with red and black stripes. A deal with Yuasa has also been confirmed, which will see the battery manufacturer becoming the renamed Honda Yuasa Racing Team’s title sponsor for the next three years.
