Four more Mercedes-AMG Edition 55 models

AMG’s 55th anniversary celebrations continue with new Edition 55 versions of the A 35 4Matic Hatchback, A 35 4Matic Saloon, CLA 35 4Matic Coupé and CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake.

These special models are all identified by their 19” matt titanium grey alloy wheels, body-side graphics and chrome fuel filler cap.

Also fitted as standard are the AMG Aerodynamics Package (comprising a larger front splitter, extra flics, a modified diffuser, and a fixed rear wing) and both the AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package II (which apply a black finish to numerous external components).

Inside, striking red and black two-tone leather upholstery is complemented by brushed aluminium trim pieces, unique floor mats, and door sill plates with illuminated red AMG logos. A microfibre-covered steering wheel with a ‘55’ motif at its base is part of the enhanced specification, too.

UK prices and availability have yet to be confirmed, but in Germany the Edition 55 upgrade costs an additional €12,614 (including VAT). Customer orders are being accepted until November 2022.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
