2014 Iveco Daily launched in Europe

Iveco has begun sales of the third-generation Daily which is available in van, minibus, chassis cab, crew cab and chassis cowl forms.

Although 80% of its components have been changed, the new Daily still retains a separate ladder chassis. Nevertheless the wheelbases are now longer, the rear overhangs are shorter and a modified suspension set-up should make loading easier and give improved handling. What’s more, the redesigned cab is claimed to be both quieter and more comfortable than before.

Gross vehicle weights are between 3.3 and 7 tonnes. A choice of five body lengths and three roof heights mean the van’s loadspace volume ranges from 7.3 to 19.6 m³, while maximum payload capability is 4.7 tonnes. Depending on the variant, the Daily comes with either a single- or double-wheel rear axle.

Power is provided by a selection of nine engines that all have 2.3 or 3.0 litre capacities. Fuelled by diesel or compressed natural gas, they can be paired with either a manual or automated six-speed transmission. Outputs vary between 104 bhp (78 kW / 106 PS) and 202 bhp (150 kW / 205 PS).
