Unique ‘Old Crow’ Ford Mustang GT revealed

Ford and Roush Performance have collaborated to build a one-off car that pays tribute to an outstanding Second World War pilot. Clarence ‘Bud’ Anderson, who served in Europe with the United States Army Air Force, achieved triple ace status flying P-51 Mustang fighters that were all named ‘Old Crow’.

Hence the ‘Old Crow’ Mustang GT, which wears a bespoke livery inspired by those aeroplanes. Also contributing to the eye-catching look are a Ford Performance front splitter, 20” Roush lightweight wheels, a rear wing from the latest Shelby GT500 and a Ford Performance active exhaust with rainbow-tinted pipe tips.

The upgrades aren’t just cosmetic, though. Thanks to a Roush Performance cold air induction system and a TVS R2650 supercharger, the 5.0 litre V8 engine’s output has been raised to 710 bhp (529 kW / 719 PS). Peak available torque meanwhile becomes 827 Nm (610 lb/ft).

Later this month, ‘Old Crow’ will be on display at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The special Mustang GT is then going to be auctioned to raise funds for the EAA’s aviation programmes.
