2020 Nissan Titan XD revealed

Redesigned front bumpers, grilles, wheels and LED rear light clusters identify the updated Titan XD full-size pick-up. Changes aren’t just restricted to the mild facelift, though.

As part of a technical revamp, the 5.6 litre V8 ‘Endurance’ gasoline engine now produces 400 bhp (298 kW / 405 PS) with 560 Nm (413 lb/ft) of torque. Those figures represent increases of 10 bhp (8 kW / 10 PS) and 26 Nm (19 lb/ft) respectively.

Output is delivered via a nine-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the previous seven-speed item. Furthermore, four-wheel drive is now standard across the range.

In fact, ordering a 2020 model should be a fairly straightforward process. To accompany that sole powertrain option, Nissan is only offering the latest Titan XD in crew cab configuration with a 1.98 metre (6’ 6”) cargo bed.

There is a choice of S, SV, PRO-4X, SL or Platinum Reserve trim grades, though. All feature front and rear ‘Zero Gravity’ comfort seats, eight airbags and the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package (comprising Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Automatic Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert).

Available equipment includes a dual-panel moonroof, Rear View Monitor, Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and, for towing, an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller and Trailer Sway Control.

Deliveries are due to begin across North America early next year.
