2020 European Car of the Year nominees

From an initial list of thirty candidates, European Car of the Year jurors have decided the seven finalists for 2020.

There are – as per usual – some inconsistencies and surprises. For instance, the Peugeot 208 supermini progresses to the next round, but the virtually identical Vauxhall / Opel Corsa does not. Other notable rejects include the Audi e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQC, Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Renault Zoe and Volkswagen T-Cross.

In alphabetical order, the nominees are:
  • BMW 1 Series
  • Ford Puma
  • Peugeot 208
  • Porsche Taycan
  • Renault Clio
  • Tesla Model 3
  • Toyota Corolla
Another round of voting is due to take place at the end of February. Then, the 2020 European Car of the Year will be declared on the 2nd of March at the Geneva International Motor Show.
