2020 NACTOY winners

Organisers of the North American Car of the Year, Truck of the Year and Utility Vehicle of the Year awards have announced the winners for 2020. A jury comprising fifty journalists from across Canada and the United States decided the results.

2020 North American Car of the Year

Although building a mid-engine Corvette Stingray was a huge departure for Chevrolet, success here for the all-new C8 helps to validate such a bold strategy. The other two finalists were the Hyundai Sonata and Toyota GR Supra.

2020 North American Truck of the Year

This prize went to the Jeep Gladiator, a model that’s arguably aimed primarily at the ‘lifestyle’ pick-up market. It beat the Ford Ranger and Ram Heavy Duty.

2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year

Delight for one Korean brand but disappointment for another, as the Kia Telluride mid-size SUV attracted more votes than the closely-related Hyundai Palisade. The Lincoln Aviator completed the trio of finalists.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo supermini is now available with the innovative two-cylinder TwinAir petrol engine. Although its capacity is only 875 cc, a turbocharger and the MultiAir electro-hydraulic valve control system mean it produces a respectable 83 bhp (62 kW / 85 PS) and 145 Nm (103 lb/ft) of torque. Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
