Mitsubishi adds the Trojan to its L200 line-up

Buyers of the Mitsubishi L200 pick-up can now opt for a new trim grade called Trojan. Intended to slot between the existing 4Life and Warrior variants, it’s being offered in Double Cab guise only.

Exterior features include 18” alloy wheels, side steps and dusk-sensing halogen headlights. Furthermore, the handles and door mirror caps are chrome-covered, while the front grille has a silver finish.

Inside, things are fairly basic. Fabric upholstery, climate control, four electric windows, a DAB radio, a CD player and Bluetooth all appear on the standard equipment list, but an infotainment touchscreen isn’t fitted.

The Trojan does boast plenty of driver aids, though. Among them are cruise control, lane departure warning, Trailer Stability Assist and Forward Collision Mitigation. Also present is Super Select part-time four-wheel drive, which is complemented by hill descent control.

Like every other Series 6 L200, power comes from a 2,268 cc turbo-diesel engine that produces 148 bhp (110 kW / 150 PS) plus 400 Nm (295 lb/ft) of peak torque.

On-the-road prices start at £24,699 with a six-speed manual gearbox, or £26,119 if a six-speed automatic transmission is chosen instead. Both of those figures exclude VAT.
