SsangYong launches the Musso Rhino LWB
SsangYong has announced a more practical version of the Musso pick-up. As its name denotes, the new Rhino LWB benefits from a 110 mm (4.3”) wheelbase stretch.
Although that might not sound like much, load bed length is actually up from 1,300 mm (51.1”) to 1,610 mm (63.3”) thanks to an increased rear overhang. Accordingly, the Rhino LWB measures 5,405 mm (212.8”) overall, which is 310 mm (12.2”) more than the regular models.
In addition, a higher gross vehicle weight means that payload rises from 1,095 kg (2,414 lbs) to 1,140 kg (2,513 lbs). Maximum towing capacity remains at 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs), while the gross train weight becomes 6,900 kg (15,211 lbs). As per every other member of the Musso line-up, the Rhino LWB comes in five-seat crew cab guise only.
Power continues to be provided by the familiar 2.2 litre e-XDi 220 turbo-diesel engine that produces 178 bhp (133 kW / 181 PS). The Rhino LWB is offered exclusively with an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission and part-time four-wheel drive.
Equipment levels are fairly generous. Fitted as standard to the Rhino LWB are 17” alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist.
As well as Nappa leather upholstery, the interior features heated seats front and rear, power-adjustable front seats, and dual-zone climate control. The infotainment system combines a 9.2” touchscreen, TomTom navigation, a DAB radio, Bluetooth and compatibility with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
