Three off-road packages for the Ford Ranger
Ford Performance has launched a trio of accessory packages for the American-specification Ranger pick-up. Created to improve rough-terrain ability, they can be installed on 2019 and 2020 model-year vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive.
Level 1 – which costs $2,495 (plus fitting) in the United States – consists of Fox ‘Tuned by Ford Performance’ 2.0 Performance Series monotube front and rear dampers, an off-road levelling kit, Ford Performance 17” ‘Dyno Gray’ double-spoke wheels and some decals.
Moving up to Level 2 takes the Level 1 content and adds BFGoodrich KO2 265/70-17 tyres, fog lights, blue tow hooks and a stainless steel licence plate holder.
Furthermore, the Ranger’s 2.3 litre EcoBoost turbocharged engine gets retuned. Consequently, power increases from 270 bhp (201 kW / 273 PS) to 315 bhp (234 kW / 319 PS), while peak torque rises by 81 Nm (60 lb-ft) to 501 Nm (370 lb-ft). Level 2 is priced at $4,495 (plus fitting).
At $8,995 (plus fitting), Level 3 is the most expensive option. As well as everything from Level 2, it includes a sports exhaust system, a ‘Ford Performance by ARB’ winch-capable front bumper, red tow hooks, a bed-mounted chase rack and a 40” LED light bar.
Level 1 and Level 2 are going to be available from Ford dealers next month. However, anybody wanting Level 3 will have to wait until summer 2021.
