Ford introduces the 2020 Ranger Thunder
Ford has revived the Thunder name for its latest limited-edition Ranger. The new pick-up – which is based on the existing Wildtrak trim grade – comes in Double Cab guise with a 210 bhp (157 kW / 213 PS) 2.0 litre EcoBlue diesel engine, a ten-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
Apart from a set of unique 18” alloy wheels, the exterior changes are purely cosmetic. Sea Grey paintwork is complemented by darkened light bezels, plus there’s an Ebony Black finish for various components including the grille, skid plates and load bay ‘sports hoop’. Special three-dimensional badges and some other red highlights complete the bold look.
Inside, the upholstery has been upgraded from partial to full leather. Red stitching and seat embroidery provide contrast for the otherwise entirely black colour scheme.
4,500 examples of the 2020 Ranger Thunder are being produced for Europe. Of that total, 1,400 have been allocated to the UK and Ireland is getting 30.
In the UK, prices start at £32,965 (excluding VAT). Dealers are accepting orders now.
