Ford creates the Bronco Overland concept

Attendees at this year’s Bronco Super Celebration East event (which is currently taking place in Townsend, Tennessee) will get to see a special one-off 2021 Bronco 4-Door. Named the Overland concept, it has been designed by Ford to showcase how the all-new SUV can be personalised.

The starting point is a Bronco Badlands with the Area 51 colour scheme. Upgrades include Fifteen52 Turbomatic 17” heavy-duty wheels, BFGoodrich LT315/70R-17 35” mud tyres, and a Ford Performance modular steel front bumper that incorporates a Warn winch.

Also fitted are Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, as part of the H.O.S.S. (High-Performance Off-road Stability Suspension) package. The powertrain comprises an entry-level 2.3 litre EcoBoost four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine plus a seven-speed manual transmission.

Overnight accommodation for two people is provided by a folding Yakima roof tent, while a cargo management system installed inside the vehicle houses a refrigerator and cooking facilities. Furthermore, the rigid panels that replace the rearmost side windows have MOLLE equipment-carrying webbing grids internally attached to them.

Although there are no plans to put the Overland into production, replicating the concept’s features on a regular Bronco should be a fairly straightforward task.
