Toyota introduces the 2021 Hilux AT35

Toyota and Arctic Trucks have once again teamed up to create a more extreme version of the Hilux. The new AT35 pick-up – which can be ordered from Toyota dealers now – is based on the latest Invincible X Double Cab.

Identifying features on the AT35 include extended wheels arches front and rear. Beneath them sits a set of 17” ET-25 alloys shod with huge 35” BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tyres.

As part of a comprehensive chassis upgrade, a Bilstein suspension package is fitted that comprises all four dampers, the front springs and an adjustable anti-roll bar.

Consequently, the minimum ride height has been raised by 65 mm (2.5”) to 375 mm (14.7”). The improved 38° approach and 29° departure angles represent increases of 9° and 3° respectively, too.

Power is provided by an unaltered 2.8 litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine. Therefore, up to 204 PS (201 bhp / 150 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque is delivered via a six-speed automatic transmission and specially-modified differentials. The AT35 is not available with a manual gearbox.

Among the options and accessories being offered are BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tyres, an on-board inflation / deflation kit and extra under-body protection.

The AT35 conversion will add £18,780 (plus VAT) to the cost of a Hilux. Because it’s fully manufacturer-approved, the standard five-year Toyota warranty is unaffected.
