Electric EV6 heralds a new Kia design language
As well as being the first model to be built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the 2022 Kia EV6 introduces the brand’s new ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy.
The result is a significant change in visual direction. For instance, the familiar ‘Tiger Nose Grille’ is gone, replaced by a somewhat less distinctive ‘Digital Tiger Face’. Crossover proportions are combined with unfussy surfacing, while arguably the most interesting styling elements can be found at the rear.
Being a dedicated battery-electric vehicle architecture, one claimed benefit of E-GMP is a spacious cabin. The dashboard is a particularly striking interior feature, thanks to its single curved high-definition screen that stretches from behind the steering wheel to just beyond the centre console.
Full details about the EV6 are due to be announced later this month.
