Renault Trafic SpaceNomad camper unveiled
At this year’s Düsseldorf Caravan Salon, Renault is going to launch its new Trafic SpaceNomad camper van.
The conversion is actually the work of French company Pilote. Regardless of the vehicle length chosen – both 5.08 metre (16’ 8”) and 5.48 metre (17’ 11”) versions are being offered – the interior uses the same typical layout.
Two swivelling cab seats can be complemented by either a fixed two-seat bench or a sliding three-seat bench. Along the side, there’s a kitchen unit that incorporates a two-burner cooker, a sink and a 49-litre fridge.
For sleeping, the aforementioned rear bench becomes a 1.88 x 1.24 metre (6’ 2” x 4’ 1”) ‘downstairs’ double bed, while the elevating roof accommodates a 2.00 x 1.20 metre (6’ 6” x 3’ 11”) ‘upstairs’ mattress.
As well as a dedicated 2,000-watt habitation area heater, the specification also includes a free-standing table, a roll-out awning and an outdoor cold shower.
Sales of the Trafic SpaceNomad are due to begin in early 2022. However, availability will be limited to Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany and Switzerland.
The 2021 Düsseldorf Caravan Salon opens to the public on the 28th of August.
