Electric Genesis GV60 specifications confirmed

Following its unveiling in August, some technical specifications for the pure-electric Genesis GV60 have now been revealed.

This all-new crossover is built on the same E-GMP modular platform that already underpins the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Overall length is 4.52 m (14’ 10”), while width and height are 1.89 m (6’ 2”) and 1.58 m (5’ 2”) respectively.

Three different powertrains are being offered.

The first combines rear-wheel drive with a single electric motor, which produces 228 PS (225 bhp / 168 kW) plus 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to a 77.4 kWh battery pack the estimated maximum driving range is 280 miles (451 kilometres).

If those output figures aren’t good enough, then an all-wheel drive variant features a 100 PS (99 bhp / 74 kW) motor for the front axle and a 218 PS (215 bhp / 160 kW) motor for the rear axle. To complement its total 318 PS (314 bhp / 234 kW), peak torque is increased to 605 Nm (446 lb-ft). However, the battery is unchanged, so potential range reduces slightly to 248 miles (400 kilometres).

Finally, the all-wheel drive Performance model boasts 435 PS (429 bhp / 320 kW) courtesy of two identical motors. Torque remains at 605 Nm, but range becomes 228 miles (368 kilometres).

The GV60 Performance also has a Boost Mode. Activated for 10 seconds via a steering wheel button, it temporarily delivers 489 PS (482 bhp / 360 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). One result is a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time of just 4.0 seconds.

Although recharging via a normal supply happens at 11 kW, ultra-speed charging at up to 350 kW is supported. With the latter, replenishment from 10 to 80 percent capacity takes just 18 minutes.

To help recoup as much energy as possible during journeys, the severity of the regenerative braking system automatically adjusts based on traffic and navigation data. Alternatively, manually switching to the harshest regen setting allows the i-Pedal one-pedal driving function to be activated.
