Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept unveiled
Nissan’s new Ariya Single Seater Concept takes the pure-electric, two-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain from the recently-launched Ariya crossover, then installs it into a single-seat racing car chassis.
Revealed at the Nissan Futures event, the concept has two roles. The first is to demonstrate the performance potential of current technologies, while the second is to test upcoming developments.
The dramatic carbon fibre bodywork follows the brand’s latest ‘Timeless Japanese Futurism’ design language. According to Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan senior vice president for global design, this is particularly inspired by the Japanese words ‘shun’ (run fast and effortlessly) and ‘sho’ (soar with power and grace).
