US Beetle Fender Edition

Five months after it was first revealed at the Leipzig International Auto Show, the Volkswagen Beetle Fender Edition has arrived in the United States.

Costing from $24,440, buyers have a choice of either a 2.5 litre, 170 bhp (126 kW / 172 PS) five-cylinder engine or a 2.0 litre, 200 bhp (149 kW / 202 PS) four-cylinder turbocharged motor.

Offered only with Deep Black Pearl Metallic paintwork, the Fender Edition is differentiated by its 18” ‘Disc’ alloy wheels, chrome Fender logos, brushed chrome door mirror caps and bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights.

However, the stand-out feature is undoubtedly the dashboard, which is painted in a striking ‘Sunburst’ design taken from Fender’s guitars. Also part of the specification is a Fender Premium Audio System that boasts a ten-channel 400 watt amplifier, plus nine speakers including a Fender Bassman subwoofer.
