The sole available engine is a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol unit that benefits from a mild hybrid system.

Output varies according to the transmission chosen. With a six-speed manual gearbox, peak power and torque are 140 PS (138 bhp / 103 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) respectively. Alternatively, opting for an Xtronic automatic gearbox instead increases those key numbers to 158 PS (156 bhp / 116 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft).

On-the-road prices for the Qashqai Premiere Edition are:
  • 1.3 DiG-T Mild Hybrid 140 PS Manual – £29,270
  • 1.3 DiG-T Mild Hybrid 158 PS Xtronic Auto – £31,790
Nissan hasn’t stated a UK allocation figure, but supply is expected to be limited.
