Dacia Bigster Concept unveiled
Dacia is getting ready to expand its range with an all-new SUV, which is being previewed by the Bigster Concept.
This is one outcome of ‘Renaulution’, a revised long-term strategy for Dacia’s parent company Groupe Renault. As part of the plans, Dacia and Lada are forming a single business unit, and every future model offered by the two brands – including the production Bigster – is going to be based on the CMF-B platform.
The Bigster’s styling incorporates bold no-nonsense surfacing and a refreshed front-end treatment. According to Dacia, there are “no bells and whistles, no chrome trim or imitation aluminium”. Indeed, the exterior protective panels are sensibly made from raw recycled plastics.
As the CMF-B architecture is able to accommodate alternative-energy and hybrid powertrains, they’re both possibilities for the Bigster. Otherwise, few technical details are known at this stage.
